This statement sets out the policies of the South Australian Department of Trade and Economic Development relating to the privacy of your personal information.

This web site collects a record of your visit and logs the following information for statistical purposes – the user’s IP address, the date and time of the visit to the site, the pages accessed and documents downloaded, the previous site visited and the type of browser used.

No attempt will be made to identify users or their browsing activities except, in the unlikely event of an investigation, where a law enforcement agency may exercise a warrant to inspect our service provider’s logs. This information is analysed at the end of each month to determine the site’s usage statistics.

This site retains the e-mail address of people who supply their details through the registration facility, for the purpose of sending an email communication (competition, feedback, newsletter, etc …). They are stored in a secure area within the Government’s Message Services System and will not be used for any other purpose or disclosed without your consent.

This site also retains the e-mail address and requested data of people who register for the newsletter, event notification and/or blogging purposes. This data is stored in a secure area of our database and is used for either communicating to the recipient should they have opted to be communicated to, and for statistical purposes which enable the department to measure the effectiveness of the campaign and key activities available on the website.

Please note that this web site contains links to a number of other web sites that are included on the basis of containing content related to career development and information relevant to the industries being promoted, namely: Defence, Resources, ICT/Electronics, Construction and Advanced Manufacturing sectors, community or government. When users click on a link to another site, they leave this web site and may no longer be protected by the department’s privacy conditions.
