Questions
Questions & Answers
- What is the best aspect about your work?
- Helping turn ideas into reality and watching roads, bridges, buildings etc. come to life is extremely rewarding. In my industry I can make a difference by reducing road congestion at intersections and improving time travel by designing new roads just to name two. But the best aspect of my work is the fun people I work with!
- What is the most challenging aspect about your work?
- Most challenging aspect for me is…. Let me think this over on the weekend and send something back to you.
- What high school and/or Uni/TAFE did you go to?
- I went to Plympton High School (which is now William Light R-12 School in the western suburbs). When I finished year 12 I started a commerce degree at The University of Adelaide but transferred to Engineering.
- What did you study in further education?
- Bachelor of Civil and Structural Engineering at University of Adelaide on North Terrace
- What is the best career advice you can give to someone is interested in going down a similar path?
- If you’re curious and interested in the built environment, making a difference in the world you live in then Civil Engineering might be for you. But everyone should choose a path they enjoy, not just what they excel in. Also remember if you choose a path and don’t end up loving it – then it’s not the end of the world and you can always change direction. I did that at uni.
