When I was a kid, I used to go on family holidays. These are always fantastic adventures. Every year, go down to Port Elliott with the family. I always liked exploring around the rocks and checking out the caves. I've always had a keen sense of adventure. I suppose I was always fascinated about the landscape, how beautiful it was, but always used to wonder exactly why it is like it is. And the way Australia is as a continent, and there's ocean all around us, and then over the other side of the ocean there's more continents.

But as I went through high school, I found that I really began to enjoy science subjects, such as chemistry and physics, and also mathematics. When I was a bit older and I started university, I continued on with these science studies, but I actually started doing geology. And as I started studying geology, I started to discover that geology began to explain the questions which I had as a kid about how the world worked. I managed to get in a little bit of travelling to Missouri in the United States of America to have a look at some of the rocks and the geology over there, because they're very similar to what we have here in South Australia. I managed to end up with a job working for a small mining company, and as part of my job I go out to project areas and have a look at the rocks. And from those rocks, I try and develop an understanding of whereabouts in the ground there might be minerals. I can honestly say that when I get up in the morning, I look forward to going to work. I can go on lots of different adventures. I'm really fulfilling the dream I had as a child.
