In year 10 for work education, as according to the educational demands, students where required to do 5 days of work experience. I chose to do mine at the local hospital along with a friend of mine. I quite enjoyed the experience and thought i did an excellent job getting to know the patients, snipping flowers for them, wiping down beds, making beds, and etc. As it was required my supervising nurse had to fill out a report on how well i did, and they had to give me a grade (A = outstanding, B,C,D,E= unsatisfactory). To my horror, and depression, my nurse gave me an E on the basis that i wasnt qualified to do "nurse stuff" such as administer drugs to patients or fill out patient forms. My friend however got an A (he had a different nurse). I was so embarassed , when i returned to school with an E on my report. I never went back to the hospital or told my other friends about my work experience. My teacher understood and gave me a B anyway by reading the nurses comments, but the E on the report still remained. Therefore i would absolutely love this workplace visit. Since my past one brought me shame. Atleast if I get this workplace visit, and can tell my future child hopefully that I didnt work experience in a submarine and got an A.
